Prophylaxis of cervical cancer in the Sakha (Yakutia) Republic on the basis of a survey of women in the “White Rose-Sakha” medical diagnostic center

Abstract

   The article presents an analysis of the results of a screening examination of the cervix in women aged 18-85 years as a method for the early diagnosis of precancerous diseases and early forms of cervical cancer (CC). The examination included extended colposcopy, examination of cervical smears and cervical canal on oncocytology, a study for human papillomavirus (HPV) of the 16^th and 18^th types. As a result, cervical dysplasia of various severity levels and CC were identified among patients. In all women with the result of oncocytology PAP 4 and PAP5, HPV types 16 and 18 are defined, which confirms the viral etiology of CC. The wide introduction of screening programs can significantly reduce the morbidity and mortality from cervical cancer due to early diagnosis and timely treatment of precancerous cervical conditions. The detection and treatment of inflammatory and precancerous diseases of the cervix, such as dysplasia is one of the leading methods of preventing CC.
