Abstract
A controlled open randomized study of the parameters of biochemical and antioxidant status in ovarian cancer patients was conducted. It was established that the administration of chemotherapeutic drugs contributes to a reliable increase of plasma levels of alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, lipid hydroperoxides, diene conjugates, malondialdehyde. Analysis of the influence of chemotherapy on the activity of antioxidant system components also showed a decrease in the content of ceruloplasmine and vitamin E. Thus, the inclusion of antioxidants in the treatment scheme of ovarian cancer patients should be considered pathogenetically justified, clinically reasonable and promising.
