Dynamics of formation of an arterial hypertension at liquidators of accident on the Chernobyl atomic power station

Abstract

Aim. This analysis represents a study of the course of arterial hypertension in the Chernobyl nuclear power station’s liquidators during recent twenty years after accident.
Material and methods. 536 liquidators of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster and 480 patients without radiation’s anamnesis were examined. Differences in course of arterial hypertension between two groups were compared. Appraisal of the results of cliniconeurologic, laboratory and instrumental methods of study were done 10, 15, 20 years later after the accident.
Results. This study demonstrates that liquidators of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster belong to the high-risk group of the early development of arterial hypertension. The clinical course of arterial hypertension is complicated with discirculatory encephalopathy, ischemic disease, and pulse disturbance. Feebly marked stage of arterial hypertension is associated with more serious form of discirculatory encephalopathy.
