Influence of antropogenic factors on demography of the population living on the Lena valley

Abstract

Aim. To estimate a role of antropogenic factors in organizing health of the population living in the Lena valley.

Materials and methods. We carried out a comparative analysis of factors concerning ecological tenseness of 6 regions located in the Lena basin. We analysed state of health of the population of these regions on a basis of data taken from medical statistics for 1990-2003.

Results. High sickness rate and mortality certified among the population living in the territory of the Lena river is not perfecly determined by climatic peculiarities of the regions. But it coincides with the residents in certain geohydrochemical conditions.

Conclusion. This medical-demographic situation in the Lena territory is evidence of the necessity to organize environment­friendly measures in the valley of the river. From this it follows, working out of theoretical fundamentals and devices regards to the medical-ecological zoning of the territory of Republic Sakha would be of great significance and priority. And the zoning should be made up subject to the population’s state of health on quality of drinking water.
