Prevalence of atrophic arthritis among rural inhabitants of the SR(Y)
Abstract
Aim. To study prevalence of rheumatoid arthritis among rural inhabitants of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
Methods and materials. Screening questioning by the method of continuous epidemiological research of 2368 rural inhabitants over 18 years old was conducted. Then the profound clinical examination with the purpose of detecting patients suffering rheumatoid arthritis was carried out. Clinico-laboratory activity and a radiological stage of illness, and also the functional status of patients of 19 detected patients were studied.
Results. 32,2 % of respondents complained of pain in joints. 0,8% of rural inhabitants had rheumatoid arthritis. The correlation of male and female patient was 1 to 18 persons. Among patients suffering RA prevailed people over 60 years old.
Conclusion. Prevalence of RA among rural inhabitants of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) exceeds the same data of the rest Russian Federation. Females and people of older age are more subjected to RA.
