“Yakut Medical Journal” (hereinafter referred to as the Journal) was founded in 2003 by the Yakut Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences and the Government  of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) (now FSBSI “Yakut Science Center  of Complex Medical Problems”) and it is its corresponding publication. The first editor-in-chief of the Journal was the founder and first director of the institution, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Alkiviad Isidorovich Ivanov. The Yakut Science Center for Complex Medical Problems is the institution subordinate to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, aimed at solving key medical and biological issues in the study of human health in the North-East of Russia with the development of innovative technologies for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of common socially significant diseases.

The Journal was registered by the Sakha-Yakut Territorial Administration of the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Press, Television and Mass Communications on October 30, 2003 and re-registered by the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Communications of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) on August 21, 2023
