Abstract
The prevalence of smoking among adolescent children in Yakutsk was studied. There was revealed widespread tobacco smoking among schoolchildren of Yakutsk. Girls smoke more often than boys. Teens began to smoke regularly at 13. The proportion of children with smoking experience by the age of 15–17 is 2.6 times higher than that of the group of children aged 13–14, which indicates the steady development of tobacco dependence in adolescents of this age.
