Atherosclerotic changes in cerebral vessels of the elderly and senile people: ethnic, gender and age characteristics

Abstract
The ethnic (Evens, Yakuts and Russians) and age-related (elderly and senile) features of atherosclerotic cerebrovascular damage in patients with chronic cerebral ischemia were studied. The study revealed that the most pronounced atherosclerotic changes in the extracranial arteries were observed in the Russians, followed by Yakuts, while the Evens are the last ones in atherosclerotic lesions of the cerebral vascular structure.
