Abstract
A study of 29 hypothetical genetic markers (single nucleotide polymorphisms) associated with mathematical ability and athletic performance was conducted in students (aged 10-17) from specialized classes at secondary schools residing in the industrial center of the Western Urals. The study revealed that the gene polymorphisms that shape the hypothetical educational needs of students from diverse educational institutions include: for an IT school, the MTNR1B, PPARA, FAS and ZMP STE24 gene polymorphisms; for a sports school, the TERT, SIRT and GSTA4 gene polymorphisms. The obtained results are consistent with literature data and are explained by hypothetical mechanisms of biological gene competence. The candidate gene polymorphisms can be recommended for future development of approaches to genetic certification, which will facilitate optimal educational and professional routing for adolescents.
