Abstract

A review of the literature on the problem of symphysiopathy in pregnant women is presented. Analysis of the data revealed that the presence of pain in the symphysis area is not a diagnostic criterion and an indication for caesarean section and for verification of the diagnosis, the most reliable method is ultrasound, confirming the presence of edema and diastasis of the symphysis.
