Surgical treatment of foot gigantism in children with congenital diseases of vessels of the lower extremities

Abstract

For five years we have observed 29 children with various forms of foot gigantism and a various congenital pathology of vessels. 12 patients have been operated. According to our research, surgical correction of feet is recommended to patients at an average and heavy degree of embryonal type of lesion of the main veins as they are characterized by presence of the expressed gigantism. Patients with the heaviest degree and spoiling deformation of foot are amputated.
