Abstract
Short bowel syndrome (SBS) is a symptom complex caused by the absence of most of the small intestine with the development of maldigestion and malabsorption. The purpose of this scientific review was to describe clinical observation of a child with SBS. As a result of timely initiation of treatment, it was possible to stabilize the boy's condition and transfer him to enteral feeding with no synthetic analogue of glucagon-like peptide-2.
