В последнее время появляется множество фактов, подтверждающих существенное значение эффекта Галкина − Чечулина в образовании зародышей кристаллизации холестериновых камней и роли в этом бактерий и воспалительных процессов.</p>
<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The author reports his search for scientific papers in the open databases Pubmed, Europa Pubmed Central, eLIBRARY using the search terms «gallstones and pathogenesis», as well as Russian equivalents for “cholelithiasis”. For the analysis articles on the cholelithiasis pathogenesis with a high citation level were selected.</p><p>So far, the mechanisms of formation of stable nuclei of crystallization of cholesterol stones are not fully elucidated. Recently, there are many facts proving essential Galkin ‐ Chechulin effect in the formation of cholesterol stones crystal nuclei and the role of the bacteria and inflammation.</p><p>Thus, in the pathogenesis of gallstone disease, the Galkin‐Chechulin effect plays a significant role in the formation of stable crystallization nuclei (embryos). Such bilirubin containing microlites do not spontaneously dissolve and there may be no symptoms for decades, and in the event of the conditions, described by W.H. Admirand and D.M. Small they become nuclei of crystallization of cholesterol stones of macroscopic dimensions.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>желчнокаменная болезнь</kwd><kwd>патогенез</kwd><kwd>литогенез</kwd><kwd>холестериновые камни</kwd><kwd>билиарный сладж</kwd><kwd>эффект Галкина − Чечулина</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>cholelithiasis</kwd><kwd>pathogenesis</kwd><kwd>lithogenesis</kwd><kwd>cholesterol stones</kwd><kwd>biliary sludge</kwd><kwd>the Galkin - Chechulin effect</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Боткин С.П.
